WTGXX holds primarily short-term US government securities, including Treasury bills, and is structured as a standard money market fund.

Treasury management startup Stable Sea integrated WisdomTree's tokenized US government money market fund into its platform on April 29, giving corporate clients a way to put idle cash into a government-backed instrument. The fund, the WisdomTree Government Money Market Digital Fund (WTGXX), is now available to Stable Sea's business clients.
Stable Sea's platform automatically moves corporate cash balances into yield-bearing instruments through a process called sweeping. With WTGXX now integrated, business clients can move excess operating cash into the tokenized fund and convert back into stablecoins when liquidity is needed. CEO Tanner Taddeo said roughly 90% of Stable Sea's client base is not crypto native, including a painting company and a US-based manufacturer, among other retail businesses.
WisdomTree Head of Digital Assets Will Peck described the integration as the first time WTGXX has been embedded directly into a third-party payments and treasury management platform. Peck said the aim is for the fund to become the default instrument for idle cash in the on-chain space, with seamless conversion into stablecoins available for global payments.
$5T in Low-Yield Business Cash a Key Target
"There's around $5 trillion in cash sitting in business accounts that yield under 2% APY," Peck said. He added that moving even a portion of that volume on-chain could drive growth in the tokenization sector over the coming years. The partnership took about a year to finalize after an initial introduction in 2024. WisdomTree is also a limited partner in a venture fund that has invested in Stable Sea.
Other institutions are expanding into the space. Standard Chartered launched a framework on April 28 that enables clients to use BlackRock's tokenized short-term Treasurys fund as collateral for trading on crypto exchange OKX. Northern Trust Asset Management also recently introduced a tokenized share class of its Treasury Instruments Portfolio, marking its entry into blockchain-based fund infrastructure.
